“Intervention should address the individual, not just the incident”
Our Approach
Our goal is to intervene earlier, reduce unnecessary justice system involvement, address underlying challenges, and create sustainable pathways toward rehabilitation, healthy development & community reintegration.
-
Revamp follows the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM), incorporating child-centered, trauma-informed principles into our diversion programs.
We believe effective diversion must address more than the behavior that brings an individual into contact with the justice system. It must also consider the experiences, environmental factors, unmet needs, and underlying challenges that contribute to that behavior.
Our approach prioritizes early intervention, individualized support, positive development, and access to appropriate community-based services. For children and adolescents, this means recognizing the impact of childhood trauma, family dynamics, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and developmental needs.
Rather than defining young people by their circumstances or mistakes, we focus on understanding the individual, strengthening protective factors, and creating opportunities for healthy development.
Our Six Intercepts
Intercept 0: Community-Based Prevention & Early Intervention
We prioritize identifying challenges before they escalate into crisis or justice system involvement. Through mentorship, youth engagement, family support, community resources, and preventative services, we work to create environments where young people can access help early.
Intercept 1: Law Enforcement Diversion
We support opportunities for law enforcement and emergency responders to connect youth and individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges with appropriate community-based services instead of relying solely on arrest or detention. Our approach emphasizes de-escalation, developmental awareness, and trauma-informed interactions.
Intercept 2: Initial Detention & Court Hearings
We recognize early intervention as an opportunity to understand an individual’s circumstances, identify unmet needs, and connect eligible individuals with treatment, family support, and alternatives to continued detention. For youth, we emphasize developmental considerations and the importance of involving appropriate caregivers.
Intercept 3: Jail-Based Intervention & Court Diversion
We work alongside correctional and court systems to create opportunities for rehabilitation, education, behavioral health support, and individualized intervention. For young people, we emphasize age-appropriate programming, therapeutic support, positive relationships, and continuity of care.
Intercept 4: Reentry & Community Reintegration
We support individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community through mentorship, resource coordination, workforce development, education, family connections, and access to appropriate treatment. For youth, reintegration also means rebuilding positive relationships, restoring stability, and reconnecting them with supportive environments.
Intercept 5: Community Corrections & Continued Support
We recognize that successful diversion requires continued support beyond initial intervention. Through mentorship, accountability, resource coordination, and connections to behavioral health services, we aim to reduce barriers that can lead to further justice system involvement. For youth, we prioritize positive development, family engagement, and long-term stability. text goes here

Our child-centered approach recognizes that children and adolescents require interventions that account for their developmental stage, individual experiences, and surrounding environment.
We emphasize:
Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding how adverse experiences, instability, and trauma can influence behavior and development.
Individualized Support: Recognizing that each child has different needs, strengths, and circumstances.
Family & Caregiver Engagement: Including supportive adults in the intervention process when appropriate and safe.
Positive Youth Development: Building confidence, life skills, healthy relationships, and opportunities for personal growth.
Therapeutic Connections: Connecting youth and families with qualified mental health professionals and evidence-based treatment when needed.
Restorative Practices: Encouraging accountability, relationship repair, and constructive pathways forward.

Nearly every individual in Revamp has experienced trauma or encountered the criminal justice system as a juvenile, or has faced disciplinary challenges in both educational and familial settings. It is crucial to engage with trusted adults who possess both personal relatability and professional expertise in reliance training, North Carolina standards of care, and fundamental behavioral health knowledge.
